SPRING TERM: WEEK #2

SPRING TERM IS UNDERWAY!

 
THERE IS STILL TIME TO REGISTER FOR SPRING CLASSES!
Spring Term will run 10 weeks, March 21 - June 5
There will be no classes during Spring Clean Up (May 3 – 8) or on Memorial Day (May 30)
Browse classes & register online. We also offer a variety of workshops.
 
  • REEL SUBMISSIONS: Are you a working professional seeking a place to practice? Submit your reel and resume for placement into our studio practice classes.
  • UNION DISCOUNT: Union members receive 10% OFF Spring Term registration.

 If you are eligible for Optional Practical Training at the end of this term – Spring 2016 – there is an invitation and information for you in student mail on the third floor. Please see Lois or Snezhana, the international student advisors, with any questions.

Faculty News                                                Meet Our Faculty

Snezhana Chernova appears in the TV drama THE AMERICANS, season 4, episodes 5 & 11.

Victor Slezak appears in Neil Labute's short film THE MULBERRY BUSH, which is part of the Tribeca Film Festival's short films lineup.

Tina Benko appears in THE CRUCIBLE, directed by Ivo Van Hove, on Broadway. Opening March 31.

Our friend Frank Wood appears in HUGHIE at Booth Theatre. Through March 27.

Robert McQueen directs NoteWorthy, in association with Acting Up Stage Company: a writers' lab in Toronto focussing on collaboration that brings together three playwrights and three composer/lyricists. McQueen also directed the workshop of three new pieces created with the Art Gallery of Ontario, to be presented at the gallery in April.

Jessica Hecht appears in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF at Broadway Theatre.

Mark Blum appears as Union Bob in the TV series MOZART IN THE JUNGLE. He also appears as Henry in the feature film HOW HE FELL IN LOVE.

Byron O'Hanlon appears in THE HOSTAGE at Curtain Call, March 31 - April 3.

Reanna Armellino, Hazen Cuyler, Keegan McDonald, James Meneses & Spencer Scott of The Greenhouse Ensemble appear in their new original piece WHILE YOU WAIT at Theatre West 97. March 31 - April 3.

Jen Danby brings her solo show SHARON TATE IN HEAVEN to Key West, Miami, and Daytona Beach (FL) April 2-11. Part one of her developing Trilogy on Sharon Tate, directed by Austin Pendleton, and in co-creation with Daniel Delano as Charles Manson for a Part 2 and Drew Stone (Andy) as Tate's husband (noted film director Roman Polanski) for Part 3. On Friday April 22 @8pm Part 1 will play at 124 Bank Street Theatre for Earth Day. Performances in Florida and New York help Big Cat Rescue, Stand Up for Gus, and the Wolf Conservation Center. Produced by This American Blonde Actress and Mississippi Mud Productions. 

Eric Roffman, using 360 panoramic and 3D VR Video, interviewed French-American actress/director Julie Delpy on camera, and directed panoramic and 3D videos of the interview, which are available as Virtual Reality on Google Cardboard and Oculus/Samsung Gear VR, and permanently on YouTube VR.

Ellis Vizcarra appears in ANDROMACHE at American Theater of Actors, April 7 - 10.

Alison Plamondon appears in JULIUS CAESAR at Queens Theatre, April 10 - May 25.

Kenneth Lonergan's HOLD ON TO ME DARLING has been extended through April 17. At Atlantic's Linda Gross Theater.

From the Horse's Mouth celebrates the career and accomplishments of Gus Solomons jr. in its next production. At The Theater at the 14th Street Y, April 1 - 3.

David Holmes' documentary STARRING AUSTIN PENDLETON has been accepted by the Tribeca Film Festival.

Craig McNulty will appear in multiple episodes of the 4th season of INSIDE AMY SCHUMER on Comedy Central. April 1 - May 31.

Matthew Widman's drama STOP AND FRISK will premiere on March 29 as part of the 2016 New York City Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUAF) at the HERE Arts Center. Directed by Gwynn MacDonald, the play features Paul Eisemann and Misha Braun

Kendra Augustin appears in THE THREE-MILE LIMIT at Theater For The New City, March 17 - April 3.

Ginger Grace appears as Emily Dickinson in her interactive performance piece INSIDE EMILY DICKINSON: HER POETRY & HER LIFE at libraries throughout Connecticut, April 3 - 19. She also appears in THE FIRST LADIES COALITION directed by Austin Pendleton at the Oliver Wolcott Library, Litchfield, CT, April 27.

Jen Gorman appears in SHOW BOAT at Winspear Opera House. April 15 - May 1 .

Sally Burtenshaw appears in HAIR LIKE THE SUN as Frida Mix at Texas Repertory Theatre, March 17 - April 10.

Matthew Widman's short drama STOP AND FRISK will be directed by Gwynn MacDonald and staged as part of the 2016 New York City Downtown Urban Theater Festival (DUFT) at the HERE Arts Center in Soho, March 4th - April 2nd.
Emily Giant and Mateo Lamuño launched BARKERS, a theater company that sponsors fresh American writers as they adapt European works. Submissions for playwrights are open on www.barkersnyc.com

Robert Sean Leonard appears in PRODIGAL SON at Manhattan Theatre Club. Previews started January 9.
